The Magical Village of Crossford

Beginning June 4, the grounds of Liberty Lake Day Camp will be transformed into The Shire of Crossford.  The Shire exists in England, in the latter half of the 16th century during the reign of good Queen Bess, Elizabeth the First of England.  Crossford is located in the realms of the Good Duke of Northumberland and it is one of his favorite places of progress throughout the year.  The woods around Crossford are old and the wise people will tell you that there is magic in those forests.  Each year, around the solstices and harvests, the fey become active and the veil between the worlds is thin.  It’s during these times that the full magic of Crossford is revealed.  It is this magic that brings characters out of time to our lovely shire such as Robin Hood and King Arthur.  Come see the lovely scenery for yourself at the New Jersey Renaissance Faire!

The New Jersey Renaissance Faire is held on June 4, 5 and 11, 12, rain or shine. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Directions and discounted tickets are available at our website, www.njrenfaire.com.

King Arthur comes to the NJ Renaissance Faire

As you might already know, the 2nd annual New Jersey Renaissance Faire will be opening on June 4 at Liberty Lake Day Camp in Columbus, NJ.  The theme of last year’s event was Robin Hood; this year’s theme is the story of King Arthur.  However, die-hard fans will be quick to point out that neither of these mythic characters are from the Renaissance Era at all.  How can we call ourselves a Renaissance Faire when these characters are clearly from the Middle Ages?  That, kind friends and companions, is the magic of The Shire of Crossford in the English countryside where our faire lives. In my next blog entry I will take some time to explain how this very unique town works.  Stay tuned!

The New Jersey Renaissance Faire will be held on June 4, 5 and 11, 12, rain or shine. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Directions and discounted tickets are available at our website, www.njrenfaire.com.

Our SECOND annual New Jersey Renaissance Faire June 4, 5, 11, 12 2011

And the tradition continues…On June 4 the New Jersey Renaissance Faire will open for its second season at Liberty Lake Day Camp in Columbus, NJ.  The first year was amazing and went beyond any of our wildest expectations.  We created a magical place that welcomed families and guests of all ages to take a day off and experience life in Merry Old England.  Last year, guests were able to watch the drama unfold between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.  Robin Hood, portrayed by actor Todd Smith, and Nottingham, played by Ian McCafferty, took to the streets of our shire and met our guests face-to-face.  Maid Marian, played by local actress Katrina Foy, warmed the hearts of young girls and princesses alike.  This year it will be King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table who will visit our faire. Come join us to see how the story will end!

The New Jersey Renaissance Faire will be held on June 4, 5 and 11, 12, rain or shine. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Directions and discounted tickets are available at our website, www.njrenfaire.com.
